Selling Tips

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:26 am

“I can’t sell”, I hear you say. Nonsense, everybody can sell. If you ever got hired, sold your car or sold yourself to another person (ie. got married or formed a relationship), you have proven your ability to sell. We sell ideas to others all the time, we just don’t view it as selling.

The role of a sales person is to find out what the prospect wants rather than whether the customer wants something at all. Once this is done, a sales person should then help the customer fill that need to the customers’ satisfaction. The principle skills a winning salesman needs are:

* Putting your customers in a acceptance state of mind, making them feel at ease and unpressured.

* Showing interest in their questions or needs.

* Using opinions as selling points (both yours and theirs).

* Supplying facts and helpful information.

* Answering objections in a positive way and never becoming defensive or aggressive.

* Agreeing with customers.

* Suggesting additional merchandise or services.(Value adding)

* Building repeat business.

It’s important that you learn to apply these skills, although if you apply tact, friendliness, honesty and you know what you’re talking about, you’re 90% there. Not very hard when you consider it.

I know of quite a few small business people who would never consider themselves sales people but have remarkable success at selling their products and services by just being themselves. Is this being a good sales person? Probably.

An old friend of mine, Ross owns a tyre store in one of Perth’s trendier suburbs. He spent many years of his life working for the military. It never ceases to amaze me, and his business partner, how this “untrained” person can sell products by just being himself. He is a natural salesman.

On the days he looks after the business instead of his partner, the sales are always up compared to when he’s not there. If you were to ask him if he thought he was a good salesman he would probably say no, but the sales figures speak for themselves.

He does it by being a friendly, likeable person that loves a joke and a chat with his customers. Most of his customers would never go elsewhere because they like him. I’m sure even if he put his prices up, he would still attract the same customers because they have a relationship with him. They feel good about shopping at his shop; he makes sure they do. Everybody can sell, simply use your own personality and be friendly and courteous. Treat customers the way you would like to be treated.

Top sales people make a point of remembering regular customers’ names, ensuring each time they come to the store they receive a small discount or offering other little extras like helping them to the car with their parcels. As I mentioned before with my friend, he fosters friendships with his regular customers. This fosters loyalty to the business by the customer, quite often regardless of price, because they get preferential treatment. You’ve probably had the feeling yourself when you constantly use a particular business and each time you walk in the people don’t just ask for the order.

Generally, sales people feel awkward about asking the customer for the order. These sales people will never be really successful in sales. A lot of sales are lost simply because the sales person doesn’t put the onus back on the customer to make a decision, they simply leave the decision up in the air which allows the potential customer to quietly drift out the door without having to commit themselves to a decision. How many times do you do this? I do it all the time and think to myself, “I’m glad nobody put me under pressure, I probably would have spent money”.

Female Hair Loss Explained

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:14 am

Although more likely found in men, female hair loss is quite a common problem too, and if hair loss for men can cause self consciousness you can multiply that a 100 times when it come to thinning hair in women. Lets have a look at the subject in a bit more detail:-

Another name for female hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, and it is more common than you may have previously thought with approximate numbers being about 1 in 4 women suffering from thinning hair.If you learn a little more about your hair cycle then you will start to have a better idea to answer your question are you actually going bald?

In your normal hair cycle at any one time 90% of your hair is growing and 10 % is resting. During this resting period it is not uncommon for you to shed hair. You can always do a test to see if you are losing more hair than you should be and that is by getting say twenty strands of hair between thumb and forefinger and then slowly but firmly tug them. If half a dozen or more come out then that is a sign you may be losing your hair.

So what causes hair loss in women? Well there can be many factors including things like stress or diet, but probably the biggest one is hormonal. There is a hormone called DHT which is thought to be responsible for hair loss. DHT is caused by an excess of testosterone in the body, for men this is a natural occurrence but for women it is a cause of unbalance. The unbalance occurs because normally the estrogen in a woman controls testosterone but if a woman has just had a child or is menopausal then the estrogen level will be low and this can result in DHT and hair loss.

So can anything be done to prevent it? Well there are options out there such as prescription drugs and hair transplants, but more and more people are wanting to look at natural and effective remedies to help control their hair loss and I cover these and more on the site that is all about how to prevent hair loss.

What Is Internet Marketing - Check These Out

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:21 pm

What is Internet marketing?

1. Depending on whom you ask, the term Internet marketing can mean a variety of things. At one time, Internet marketing consisted mostly of having a website or placing banner ads on other websites. On the other end of the spectrum, there are loads of companies telling you that you can make a fortune overnight on the Internet and who try to sell you some form of “Internet marketing program“.

Today, Internet marketing, or online marketing, is evolving into a broader mix of components a company can use as a means of increasing sales - even if your business is done completely online, partly online, or completely offline. The decision to use Internet marketing as part of a company’s overall marketing strategy is strictly up to the company of course, but as a rule, Internet marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of nearly every company’s marketing mix. For some online businesses, it is the only form of marketing being practiced.

2. Internet marketing is comparatively inexpensive when compared to the ratio of cost against the reach of the target audience. Internet marketing is a great way to bring more profit to your business. Internet marketing is a lucrative way to deliver quality buyers for your services at little cost compared to most types of marketing services.

Search engines are important to your Internet marketing strategy because according to a recent study, some 85% of all Web site traffic originates from either a search engine or directory. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of the most successful tactics used in e-Marketing today.

3. Internet marketing is the business of both advertising and selling goods and services over the Internet. This form of business is ever-increasing in popularity, with millions of people now making purchases on the Internet. Internet marketing began in the early 1990s as primarily a means of product description, consisting merely of text descriptions. As technology progressed, Internet marketing rapidly advanced to include pictures and other rich graphics as part of advertisements for products and services. After realizing the remarkable potential of this means of marketing, Internet-based companies started opening their virtual doors for business. As opposite to what are now known as “brick and mortar” operations, these e-businesses offer their products and services to a increasing number of consumers, conducting all, or nearly all, of their business in the virtual world of the Internet.

There are numerous forms of marketing on the Internet. For more details go to www.split-test-profits.com Among them are article marketing, blog marketing, e-mail marketing, search engine marketing (to include search engine optimization), banner ads, pay-per-click ads, and pop-up ads. It is important to note that each of these forms catches the attention of the target market in different ways, and some may be more effective than others depending on the product or service, the target market, and the strategy and goal of the business marketing itself. Among the business functions that may require use of different means in their strategies are client service, sales, public relations, information organization, and others.

4. Internet marketing is still a complete mystery to a large majority of Internet users. For many users, Internet marketing is seen as some foreign area of the web, populated with silly get-rich-quick schemes and unsavory characters ready to rip off the innocent and uninformed consumer at the click of a mouse.

Worldwide there are now over a billion Internet users, representing one large global consumer base or marketplace. The total amount of goods sold online has been steadily increasing each year as the Internet gains in both popularity and familiarity. Studies have shown people shop online because of lower prices, a wider selection of products, easier comparison shopping, and many just prefer not having to travel to stores to make a purchase.

5. Think of your website as a local shop that is situated down a dead end street. To succeed your customers need to know where you are and what you are about.

First of all this means having good road signs and there being a road layout that makes the street easy to get to. In the online world the road signs and layout are the website software and optimised content and they are just as important if you want online customers to find you.

6. Internet marketing is the research of the target audience, studying the market situation and predicting changes for the online market, plus the package of actions aimed at bringing potential customers to the website by improving the web site’s visibility in search engines and placing all sorts of ads throughout the Net. An integral part of the Internet marketing is the web site’s visits statistics.

Any of your actions toward increasing sales are to be evaluated in terms of their efficiency. The quality analysis of the Internet statistics will help you understand your prospective customers’ demands and interests, evaluate the attraction and retention methods that are good for the customers and reveal what makes them to not get interested in your products or services.

Just Got Back From Actually Purchasing A Classic Mustang

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:24 am

Well, I haven’t so much gotten to talk on my weblog half as much as I had expected, on account of all the time I’ve been roped into helping Dad fuel his super nutball midlife crisis. Well, some would argue it isn’t quite as nuts as it could possibly be. The thing is, how he showed up was to get himself dressed up like he was Fonzie or something, and storm over to my place and casually inform me, in his jazziest tone of voice: “Put some shades on, son, you and I are out looking for some classic Ford Mustang Sales. That’s right, youngster, I’m finally going to get one of my own.”

Next thing I know him and me were hopping around to a couple of those creepy classic car lots that most people are mostly sure are not exactly legit, and I watch this wild old guy cut a check without even stopping to think, for a very gleaming classic car. I have to admit, it’s quite piece of machinery. It sounded really nice too.

I want to point out that I said that last sentence in the past tense. It sounded really nice right up until it seized up completely. The old man maintains that it’s just a quick fix and he just needs the right part. The problem is, it’s not as straightforward to find classic Ford Mustang parts as it was about three decades years ago, but the old man informs me there is a pretty sizable aftermarket for them in spite of their age. the best place to find parts for classic Mustangs is through online auctions, because you can find them rebuilt and often better than new. Not necessarily that inexpensive, however… Get real, they are ancient Ford Mustang parts.

Not the worst midlife crisis ever, I guess. Imagine if he would’ve bought himself a big tattoo or something.

Introduction to Hydroponics

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:46 am

Hydroponics was derived from the Greek word hydro, which means “water” and ponos, which means “labor or water-working”. Hydroponics gardening involves growing plants with their roots in other nutrient solutions and without soil.

Hydroponics gardening is as simple as ordinary gardening. Both of them necessitate sufficient light, water, temperature, light, and humidity. But with hydroponics, no soil is used. Instead a soil substitute holds the roots while nutrients are carried by the water. Indoor hydroponic gardening is not that hard and plants respond well to this method of growing.

This is one of the major considerations in hydroponics gardening since it sustains the plants. One has to make sure that this nutrient solution maintains a pH level of 5 to 6 after dilution. In hydroponics gardening, the plants should be watered more than three times a day. this is usually done using a pump and timer.

Simple self watering systems such as the Aquapod Watering System or the Big Drippa Watering Kit. These systems can water and feed your greenhouse or patio plants.

If your hydroponics garden is located indoors, the most suitable temperature is between 71 to 76 degrees Fahrenheit. Of course, this temperature may change depending on the different types of plant you are working on, e.g. tropical plants.

Place your plants somewhere they can receive ample amount of light. Otherwise artificial light must be used. High pressure Sodium lights or bulbs are a suitable substitute for natural light.

Humidity is good. When the room’s temperature rises, the air will be able to hold the sufficient amount of moisture your plants will need.

With hydroponics, an excellent yield of quality plants can be easily achieved. Home hydroponics systems and DIY kits are are readily available in most hardware stores.

A hydroponics system can be fully automated. Since it is water-based, the gardener has no soil to dig or weeds to pull. Also, the water can be re-used to prevent wastage.

The Acoustic Guitar - A Great Instrument To Learn

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:05 am

Many people consider the guitar as a thoroughly modern instrument, the facts are that guitars have been a key part of the musical scene for many centuries. Even now, guitars are evolving even though the most sought after new guitars all look the same to those not invovled in the music industry. For a great selection, you will find Sam Ash carries a great selection of all sorts of guitars.

Guitars are simple instruments that can be carried and played anywhere you are. I’ve seen them on the back of a boat out on the Great Barrier Reef as well as in the hands of a musician sitting around the campsite. My cousin won’t even think of going far from home without his guitar.

The sound of the acoustic guitar also proclaims its simplicity as well as its beauty. Acoustic guitars have a unique and mellow timbre or resonance that invites the listener to come closer and find out where the music is. The hollow body and the choice of nylon or steel strings will also make a difference in the sound quality that is produced by the strumming of the strings.

While most guitars look the same, each one is as unique as the piece of wood from which it is created. Spruce and cedar are well known woods found in acoustic guitars and the durability of these woods allow each instrument to create its own exclusive sound. For most, when a guitar is heard, people might say, “Oh, that’s a guitar”. But when a professional musician goes to choose his guitar, they listen for a specific sound they want to hear and sound encourages them to purchase their newest guitar.

Everyone can learn to play but it takes dedication and practice. One has to learn which strings play which notes at which fret; a student must try a great many styles to come up with the ones that suit him best; their fingers have to become used to the feel of the strings and develop some calluses that brand guitarists the world over. All of these slight difficulties can be overcome when the student is determined to learn to play a quitar, which is easy to learn. Be sure and look for Sam Ash coupons and learn to play. The guitar is a pleasure to listen to when played and can fit in any situation.

Everything You Need to Know About Vacation in Aruba

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:01 pm

When someone mentions Aruba, then a gorgeous island that looks to be something out of a movie is meant. The resorts are outstanding and the beaches are sparkling. Vacations to Aruba could be a fantastic time to have a rest on a tropical and exotic island while forgetting about the stresses of home. A lot of reasonable packages and rates can be got if you are looking for them correctly.

A lot of holidaymakers like to use a travel agency. Nevertheless, in more recent years I have seen that it is just as successful to go with online vacation deals that travel agents aren’t able to offer. Granted, a travel agent can use his or her own feedbacks and experiences to advise spots that may make your traveling to great summer vacation spots much more enjoyable, but that would be your call. It is also nice to have someone to vent to if your holidays doesn’t turn out to be pleasant. If you book online, you are solely responsible for any misunderstandings or faults that may lead to a fewer pleasant Aruba holiday. The choice is yours on who you want to blame should anything go sour.

Any reputable travel agent has the ability to arrange a getaway to best vacation destinations in the Caribbean for you. They can put together everything from your airfare tickets to your activities while on the island. Make sure if you consider that making an online reservation for your Aruba holiday is the way to go, you do a good research. Don’t take a hotel just as a web site says it is beautiful. Try to discover some reviews on that hotel, or get vivid pics and details. But have in mind, that photos can be very deluding. Believe me on that statement. You may also find that if you are flexible with your itinerary or want to book a last minute vacation, you may find a lot more deals. Often, to be flexible will let you save some additional bucks, as will last minute deal. If you are comfortable to consider to plan last minute Aruba vacations and you are able to go away within a couple of weeks, you will discover that the prices of packages available for last minute offers are usually unbeatable.

Doing some careful planning, detailed searching, and some daydreaming - your ideal Aruba vacations are only a few steps away from going reality. By the way, don’t forget to pack the sunblock!

Hjalti Solvason on Developing Market Entry Strategies

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:42 am

This is an abstract from a dissertation by Hjalti Sölvason MBA student at the University of Edinburgh on developing market entry strategies as one of the main challanges facing companies wishing to expand into new market segments.

Managers are always under pressure to maximise shareholder value, and when they face a saturated market at home, they begin to search for new markets outside their home country. In other words they seek geographic diversification.

It makes a foreign market even more attractive if it is growing faster than the home market itself, and as improved communications might be considered a supportive reason for opening up new markets overseas.

Improving productivity is one reason for going abroad in order to obtain greater profits and revenue. Greater profits on overseas investments can be a strong motive for going abroad. Service companies frequently follow customers overseas to prevent competitors from gaining access to their clients.

By using foreign production to lower cost the company can move part or all of its production facilities to the country from which its competition is coming, and enjoy such advantages as less costly labour, raw materials, or energy. Protecting foreign markets is often necessary, which can lead to a change from exporting to overseas investment.

Another reason why a company should be interested in entering new markets is by following the competitor. Once a competitor has set up a production plant in a country, management must decide rapidly whether to follow suit or risk losing the market forever.

„In many cases it is a forced move by the company to enter into new markets because if not, the company would stagnate and be left behind by its competitors.“ – Hjalti Sölvason, August 1996.

Being able to claim that the firm is a “multinational” creates the impression of importance, which can influence its customers. Stockholders and financial analysts expect firms to continue to grow, and those companies operating only in the domestic market have found it increasingly difficult to sustain that expectation. The faster growth of a company, helps also satisfy the management’s desire for expansion.

A company should ask itself the reasons for entering the market and assess the internal forces and capabilities of the company itself. There are also various ways to enter new markets: Exporting, wholly owned subsidiary, joint venture, licensing agreement, franchising, contract manufacturing, management contract and strategic alliances.

The importance of screening markets, analysing market indicators and factors are also factors to address when entering new markets. What does market research say about trends in the industry and other factors like financial risk, have been discussed.

Identifying and analysing competitors in order to bring to the surface their strengths and weaknesses, and the field trip should be made in order to smell and taste the market, and collect primary data. Segment the market into those areas where the company can position its services or products by gathering information about the customers.

Entry strategies and entry modes do vary between competitors. Two companies may perceive different risk as they evaluate the same market and therefore choose different entry modes.

Hjalti Sölvason graduated as a Systems Analyst from the Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen and is now studying for an MBA at the University of Edinburgh. Hjalti has experience in the IT industry and has worked as a software system designer and programmer.
